Los trabajos y los días
May 19th to 25th
In Alejandra Pizarnik's epigraph in Los trabajos y las noches (Works and nights), a book that pays tribute to the epic poem by Hesiod entitled Works and Days, the goal is to make the body -and much more- available to carry out the precarious jobs that individuals do in the city of Buenos Aires on a daily basis. Like the ''invisible'' labor of a poet, those activities -a shoe polisher, a cardboard collector or a windshield cleaner- are not usually considered ''work''. Be it for lack of knowledge or prejudice, a certain idea of laziness is perceived. Using these triggers, the performance analyzes the MO and codes of these jobs to understand how they work, what their tricks are, and how much money these workers make. For this piece, Feune de Colombi paid a sum as ''rent'' for his tools, which equaled his daily earnings, to gain insight through prior interviews, trying to step into the shoes of these people who are practically erased from the system.
